Although Montreal is a city where gastronomy occupies an important place throughout the year, winter is one more reason to warm your body and heart through gustatory pleasures. In the coming weeks, a series of major events will allow you to taste everything!
Poutine week
Both classic and legendary, Quebec’s poutine has already proven itself and is talked about all around the world. Icon of the local gastronomy, it exists under hundreds of variations, variations that you will be able to discover during the annual Poutine week.
From February 1st to 7th, you will be able to explore the hundreds of participating restaurants that will each present their official competition poutine. The restaurants and poutines rewarded will depend on your taste buds. Enjoy and vote!
The Festival of our cheeses
Presented as part of the Montréal en lumières festival, the Festival of our cheeses will take place from February 19th to the 21st.
"Come and meet cheesemakers from Québec at Complexe Desjardins’ La Grande-Place. During this ninth edition, discover the regional know-how of our cheese artisans and their products. Taste samples of Québec classics as well as great wine and beer at the Québec Cheese Boutique."

It’s maple time
In Quebec, the end of winter and the arrival of spring rhyme with sugar shack! Montreal is no exception, and as of February, you will be able to explore maple products at several events held throughout the city.
The Sugaring Off Season at the Sucrerie de la montagne from February to April, the Sugar Shack Brunch at the Richmond restaurant in Griffintown in March are both good examples of sweet-tooth opportunities. The Cabane Panache et bois rond is also back on the Promenade Wellington from March 21st to 24th.
